IRVINE, Calif., July 28, 2016 — The U.S. Defense Logistics Agency has added Staco Systems products to its Qualified Product List (QPL) under the MIL-DTL-7788 category for integrally illuminated panels. The QPL listing is the first for a next- generation ruggedized illuminated panel and is a signal to the market that Staco products have been examined, tested and found to be compliant with the exacting standards and specifications required in the critical flight deck environment.

For more than 50 years, Staco Systems has been the pre-eminent provider of illuminated push-button switches and control solutions, subsystems, light plates, keyboards and keypads for an ever-expanding list of high-profile aerospace and defense customers worldwide.

“This is great news for Staco and for our military and commercial customers,” said Patrick Hutchins, President. “It’s especially important for those who want to bring advanced illuminated panel technology to their flight deck, and provides an added layer of assurance to all customers, including OEMs, as they evaluate supplier options.”

Staco’s newest product offering is a ruggedized illuminated panel, available for virtually any cockpit environment, utilizing a polymer surface that eliminates light leakage due to surface wear and the resulting costly repair or replacement. Traditional illuminated panels feature painted acrylic; this painted surface tends to wear through with normal use, typically requiring replacement every five years.

Hutchins said that Staco recognizes the ruggedized illuminated panel upgrade, though beneficial and desirable, may not be immediately practical for all customers. “Traditional illuminated panels remain popular with many customers and Staco Systems also has those readily available to meet all 7788 configuration needs as well.”

In addition to its QPL approval, Staco has a long-standing commitment to quality and compliance that includes: ISO 9001:2008 and AS 9100C certification; qualification to requirements of DO-160; full compliance with multiple MIL specs and standards.

Staco Systems is the world’s leading provider of dependable Human-Machine Interface (HMI) innovations that assure the performance and protection of high- value, mission critical applications. Staco Systems headquarters is in Irvine, Calif., with international sales offices in Australia, China and the United Kingdom.
