Staco Systems Provides Pushbutton Switches and Data Entry Products Used Onboard the USS New Mexico

Staco Systems, a leading supplier of aerospace and marine control components, has contributed to the recent delivery of the sixth submarine of the Virginia class, USS New Mexico (SSN 779), to the U.S. Navy by Northrop Grumman.

The Virginia class vessels are the latest USN attack submarines designed for both open-ocean and littoral missions. This revolutionary vessel was intended to improve upon and ultimately replace several Cold War era designs. The Virginia class will provide the U.S. Navy with the capabilities required to maintain the nation’s undersea supremacy well into the 21st century. They have improved speed and stealth, additional proficiency in multi-role missions, highly developed surveillance capabilities, and advanced abilities to operate well in littoral areas around the world.
