QUALITY TECHNICIAN
Staco Systems, a well established design and manufacturing facility in Irvine has a current need for an experienced Quality Technician for our Quality Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail oriented individual with solid inspection, documentation and testing experience.
The Quality Technician will perform visual, mechanical and electrical inspection of purchased and fabricated parts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying manufactured defects and modify minor production errors. The major focus of this position will be to investigate product defects to determine cause, generate solutions and review of production processes for improvement opportunities which result in quality and/or productivity improvement.
Other responsibilities include:
- Perform testing on all products prior to shipping
- Participate in the inspection of all components and materials received from outside vendors and inside Staco Systems fabricators
- Assist in the corrective action process associated with MRB or audit programs related to final inspection of our product
- Assist Quality Manager in evaluating product RMAs
- Perform production line audits as requested by customer purchase specifications
- Act as a liaison for the company to ensure all equipment is properly checked out for calibration testing
- Participate in the first article inspection on all components received, when required
- Perform document control duties, as needed
- Ability to use all mechanical measuring tools (i.e., comparators, micrometers, calipers, hardness testing, etc.)
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education/Training/Experience
- Must be familiar with ISO 9001, AS9100, QS9000 or TS-16949
- Must have experience working with electro-mechanical products
- Previous experience testing electrical products is a plus
- Experience with interpreting Engineering drawing requirements
Preferred candidates will have a high school diploma/GED and 3 – 8 years of technician experience in a manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to prioritize and make decisions. The chosen candidate must also have computer experience and be familiar with Microsoft and MRP systems.
